Does anyone know where, or even if, I can read a book on-line?

I'm interested in reading the book American Psycho but every bookstore in my area is either sold out or doesn't carry it any longer and i'd hate to go the internet route by ordering it, I actually want to read it now.

So does anyone know of a site where I could read it? Is it even legal for someone to post an entire book on the net? I actually have no clue.

If it is illegal and i'm stepping over the line by asking this, I apologize, but I don't really don't know anything about this particular issue. I know it isn't legal to post movies, but books? Is there a pay site somewhere? Because i'd be happy to go there and pay to read it.

It's not legal to post most books online. Books are copywrighted works, just like most movies and music. There are pay sites for eBooks, but I searched Amazon, eReader.com and eBook.com, and none of them have American Psycho.

EDIT: If the zip code in your profile is still accurate, then there's a Borders in Newark that has it. If you can wait for a few hours, you can reserve a copy now and pick it up in the morning.

Sigh, I suppose so. [IMG] Thanks for checking for me, though. [IMG]

Mods, you may close or strike this thread from the board if you wish, there's no reason for it now. Thanks.

Nope, no dice either, David. The small library near my house never had it (they barely have anything), and the main library in the city had their copy stolen long ago and they never bothered replacing it.

Besides, I would like to own this book, anyway, it'll go good with the dvd that I just got for my birthday last week.
