Does anybody have "Kids" on DVD? This was a shocking movie about kids in New York which came out in about 1995.

If anybody has it, what is the quality of the DVD like? Is it a good transfer?

    Hi Nolan.
I have kids on DVD region 2. Not a bad little dvd. Transfer is good and sounds good.

    I give it a 6 out of 10.

I got a good deal on it getting that for 12 bucks with shipping on EBAY sealed. The transfer is not bad at all. I do however think that Bully has a better transfer than KIDS but both movies rock. [IMG]

The British version of Kids has been cut by our friends at the BBFC.

"Proof of age was required for all the actors involved in the simulated sex scenes. None was below the British age of consent; indeed they were all well above it. Nevertheless, cuts totalling just under a minute were made to remove some shots of minors which were not acceptable under the Board's own very strict policy, which has always erred on the side of caution in such matters.

    James Ferman
    Director

    5th March 1996"

No subsequent submission and waiving of these cuts has been made, so I think it's safe to say that the R2 British version is the censored version.

I was just gonna ask - Is the R1 version totally "uncut"?

I remember seeing two releases up on Ebay last year, one of which was promoting the uncut director's version though I don't recall if this was simply in the listing or printed on the actual cover...
