I know it's probably very simple to measure and diagram myself, but I'm feeling especially lazy today.

I already tried a couple searches with no real success.

I'm looking for a simple drawing or diagram of a dowel-based DVD storage rack. It would have two pieces of oak or pine as the sides and then 3 horizontal dowels to make up one "shelf." There would be multiple shelves, of course.

I'm looking for something that would hold about 500 or so DVDs.

    Thanks in advance.

hehe, I'm in the midst of making the exact same thing! Home Depot actually sells long planks of MDF used for cabinet shelving for only $5 a piece that would be perfect for me, since I don't need a capacity that high...if I finish it before you get any good answers, I'll tell you what I come up with.

I also asked the guy some questions, since I was thinking more along the lines of using [threaded] rod between the sides, but was concerned of abrasions on the DVD cases, so he suggested a type of foam tubing used in heating applications that would be ideal, since it's soft and would offer a bit of grip too. I actually didn't look into dowels...heh.
