I put this in the music area even though its more software related. Actually my bad the thread title should be regarding Metallica's Black album. Accidently hit submit new thread. Yes...a long and winded night.

When listening in multichannel track #4 The Unforgiven, the player refuses to play the audio. If track 3 fades out and track 4 comes on...no audio. Not unless I briefly forward the song a few seconds will it pick up the audio. In stereo there is no problem, just in multichannel.

Anyone hear of this with this and other discs? I am using a Toshiba SD 5700 and other than this it has been a flawless machine, probably due to the fact it has only seen maybe 12 dvds in its lifetime.

This particular track on Metallica has been well documented to be a problem with the Toshiba 4700 over on HTSpot. I have the disc and a 4700 and I just have to do a fast forward then hit play to hear the track. It's kind of a pain but at least you get to hear the track. I haven't had any similar problems with any other disc.[IMG]

I guess it is a problem with the Toshiba '4700 and '5700. I've had no problems playing the Metallica disc on my Technics DVD-A10.

Also... don't worry about the cowbell in the left rear speaker during "My Friend of Misery". It's just Will Ferrell. [IMG]
