Does a European/PAL Xbox support progressive scan? (1 Viewer)

I was just wondering if the European/PAL Xbox (and the PAL Xbox games) support progressive scan or not.

I believe I read that since there is no official PAL progressive standard, progscan is disabled

BTW, is there an HDTV pack available for the European/PAL Xbox so that I can use component inputs?

I believe the HDTV pack has been withdrawn in the uk, plus the fact only a handful of sets are capable of accepting a pal prog scan input.
