I just got a DS today and the touch screen has one dead pixel. If they were in better supply I would return it but I can live with it.

However, I was wondering if it's a sign that more dead pixels will arise?

    Thanks

Regarding the emergence of additional dead pixels, the answer is: possibly.

Depending on the device, the problem may be limited to just that one occurence. However, in a few isolated cases, I have read stories of additional dead pixels cropping up with continued use, but such incidents are significantly less than just those with one troublesome pixel.

Here's Nintendo's official statement on the dead pixel issue:

If you need to contact Nintendo directly, here's a link to their Customer Support department.
