That commentary is already on the current DVD. It is one of the easter eggs you get when White snaps his fingers. With the exception of the added 1 minute it is almost identical.
On the DVD it's "poopy-flavored lollipop," right? Frankly, I'm glad they did that -- "poopy-flavored" is funnier! (And a cock-flavored lollipop actually *is* useful if you're, well, you know. )
Actually, if you didn't see it in a FOREIGN theater you missed that joke. I believe (and I'll go back to the commentary) that they edited it for U.S. audiences to get a PG-13 rating. I saw it in the theater in Los Angeles and certainly don't remember that line. Oh, I remember now, the line "f@#k a doorknob" rather than "hump a doorknob" was another line changed for a U.S. PG-13 release. Both "less offensive" versions were in the theatrical release from what I remember.
I'm ambivalent about the doorknob joke, as the way he dubbed "hump" sounds funny, but the message is the same (with regards to what they're doing to the doorknob).
But poopy and, er, the other thing, I am guessing don't taste the same...besides who sucks on poop? I'd rather have the original joke in there just because it makes sense.
Trust me, after talking with many ex-girlfriends and female friends, they are NOT doing it for the taste, but because they want to please the man. (was that TMI?)
Then about a half-hour (or more?) into it, they all get into a fight (verbal, not fisticuffs), someone gets pissed off and leaves, then one of the remaining fellows claims that all commentaries are the same, no one really listens to them, and promptly puts on the Farrelly brothers' commentary from There's Something About Mary, which plays for the rest of the running time
Could some who has the theatrical cut DVD post the EXACT, to-the-second run time? I'm not sure the unrated one includes ANY extra footage so I'd like to compare the running times...
"- The line "you're as useful as a cock flavoured lollipop" has been changed to "you're as useful as a poopie flavoured lollipop" - The line "you're like a bunch of retards trying to f*** a doorknob" has been changed to "you're like retards trying to hump a doorknob" - After Justin leaves Amber for the ADAA Tournament, the US versions cuts straight to the Purple Cobras entering the dodgeball arena. International versions, have him come back and kiss Amber and then leave."
My friends and I played this last night at High Body Count Night; we were dying. Hilarious movie, but glad I didn't jump at Fox's first release. I will be picking up the new one.
I am going to stick to my guns and not buy any of these "longer" or "unrated" cuts that are only 1-2 minutes longer. A movie should have actual new scenes that add or change something in the movie to make me want to get it, ala Underworld, Dances with Wolves, Apocalypse Now, Brazil, etc.
Oh, and one more thing. Not that I am supporting this whole double-triple-quadruple dipping by the studios, the practice of releasing a less featured version and then a couple months later, a more full SE release is our consolation to rental-pricing. Those of you in the scene around 2001-2002 remember all the talk about the potential for rental pricing like VHS.
I definitely noticed the first two changes. I didn't remember the kiss not being there, but that would probably account for the change in running times. The new one's 1:32:28, so that extra 31 seconds likely stems from the extra shot of Justin and Amber.
