Is there any good source, or series, of DVDs on non-fiction themes?

I have a few of the DVD Iternational Naxos "Musical Journeys". The series seems to have come to an end, and really, they were not as good as I had hoped they might be.

I would really love one about the oceans, the movement of waters, tides, fishing boats, etc. The musical accompaniment could range from Debussy to the Flying Dutchman overture. Tours of gardens would also be of interest.

DVDs of Scottish scenery are also on my want list.

Anyone have any recommendations along these lines? TIA!

It's not quite what you're specifically asking for, but I'm sure you've checked out Winged Migration Interesting music/sound, very little narration, and lots of birds.

    Thanks!

I hadn't thought of that one. I've heard of it, but never seen it. I suppose March of the Penguins might be in the same ball-park.

There does seem to be a dearth of materiel of the sort I am looking for. I would think DVDs like that might find a good market.

The whole "Qatsi" Trilogy, starting with Koyaanisqatsi. Along with related films like Baraka.
