Didn't see a thread for this so figured I'd start one. Anyone get their copy yet? 2 days to the 'official' release date, wondering if anyone has some early impressions.

Also, am I the only one who is really excited to play this game? Beyond the obvious attractions, it has exploration, gambling, mini-games, and supposedly some sort of volley ball simulator that you can unlock [IMG]

I was really excited about this game at first, but now it has subsided. I just hope it has good volleyball play, I want more than just eye candy.

I pre-ordered mine 2 weeks ago from EBGames.com. It looks like it's shipping to retailers tomorrow (Tuesday), so I figure I'll get it on Wednesday.

IGN's "hands-on" preview was positive, mentioning there was more gameplay then they thought.

I'm a bit bummed by the prospects of this title. I would love to see a really good Volleyball game on the market, and it seems that this is just about all we can get. I'm sorry, I've played volleyball... women with breasts that big couldn't even jump...without losing an eye.

I know Beach Spikers was supposed to be very good, but I'm already having a hard time finding that one in stores.

Oh, well. Here's hoping a real volleyball game will find it's way out eventually.

I still haven't heard too much about the gameplay, but I have a couple of concerns:

The camera - the camera seems to follow the ball, zig-zagging back and forth quickly, which could be distracting.

Character movement - I believe the IGN hands-on said that your character will automatically move some or all of the time toward the ball/net, which could be distracting also. I'm not actually sure if you move your character at all with the controller, or just hit the ball? Again, with the camera following the ball, moving your character could be difficult.

    Ad for some eye candy...

I too played NCAA volleyball and open league indoor. Looking forward to a good volleyball game with a few "extras", on a two women team I expect full four extras mind you. [IMG]

You're right Dave. I am dismissing it without every playing it.

I'm sure no one has done that before. Looked at a package and decided... "No, I don't think that title is for me." I've looked at more than enough info from IGN and other sites, that have told me more than enough things that I want to know about that game.

    I'm just stating my opinion.

But, since I'm not actually playing the game first... I guess it's not valid. My apologies.

I've read that the side games are just as fun if not more fun then the Volleyball. All I know is this game will be interesting [IMG]
