I have been searching the forum for a clear choice in a progressive dvd player that everyone can agree on. I have still haven't found an answer. Can someone tell me if there is a specific unit that has been released that produces an awesome picture and is not plagued with various bugs i.e. chroma. Looking for something under $2k.

Manuel, there are a handful of players priced well under $2000 that do not show the chroma bug. Check out the Denon DVD-1600 ($450-500), Panasonic DVD-RP91 ($450-600), and Kenwood DV-5700 ($800). All three players are compatible with the DVD-Audio format. Note that the Kenwood unit is a carousel changer, while the other players are single-disc units.

I'm not sure, but the Denon DVM-4800 for around $800 may not show the chorma bug either. The Rotel RDV-1080 for around $1000 also is said to be free of the chroma bug too. Finally, there is supposed a fix for the chroma bug on the $1200 Denon DVD-3800. So, you have a number of choices.
