I have Paradigm mini's sitting on some omni mount stands, nothing special.

Do stand make a big difference in sound quality, especially the fillable ones??

Not as long as they don't rattle/vibrate and are the proper height so that the tweeters are at ear level. Also if it is made of a material like PVC that can resonate, it can cause problems. Thump it slightly with something and see what it sounds like, and if it produces little to no noise than no problem.
