I'm just wondering since some advertise "VCD support" or something along those lines. I just want one that plays VCDs and SVCDs. If a DVD player supports VCDs then will it automatically support SVCDs? I definitely do not need pro-scan.
Any suggestions. My price range is $75-$150 USD or $125-$200 CAD.
thanks

Most DVD players will play VCDs. The specs and labeling on the front panels and boxes rarely mention SVCDs, and whether players that play VCDs will play SVCDs varies. Also, there are players that will play SCVDs at one bit rate, but not at a higher one.

I have a cheap Samsung that plays most everything, but I have given up making SVCDs to send to others because of the incompatibilities. I have better luck with VCDs.
