Has anyone seen this yet? http://www.dvdtracks.com/ Basically it's a site where people can share their own commentary tracks for a movie. What a great idea! Of course I haven't listened to any of them yet so maybe it's not such a good idea. :D

I read about this in a magazine the other day, and think it's been mentioned here before. Still haven't checked it out though. With me being a bit ill today (yes, I know EP2 comes out next week) I might give it a shot.

I think it's a great idea.

Many films don't have commentaries on DVD (with many having great DVD's anyway) so why not make your own?

I'd like to start an IRC chatroom which allowed several people to comment on a DVD and the log could be saved.

This was something that Roger Ebert suggested in his Yahoo column Link Removed.
There was some follow-up discussion (including questioning the legality of it) in his Sun-Times column here.

Wow. I thought I was the only one. back in 1997, a friend and I did a 'mock-commentary". We watched the movie "Godzilla vs. Monster Zero" and recorded ourselves doing a commentary, assuming the roles of director Inoshiro Honda and star Nick Park. It was defenitly MST3K-inspired, and mostly for our own enjoyment. Something funny to watch when we are older. Comments like, "what was it like working with Godzilla?" and "It was tough to scout locations for Ghidrah to destroy" were running rampant.
I can see this being put to better use by fans that consider them selves experts on a certain film. Being ably to download them in MP3, start them up on your pc while you simultaneously watch the DVD would be great!:D
