Do i need a center channel? (1 Viewer)

All i have right now is a 2.1 set up. Is there any reason i should add a center channel? I would not be adding surround speakers to make it 5.1. Should i just stick with my 2 front speakers?

A little more information please. What type of system do you have? Is it a HTIB type? Do you have an A/V receiver, or are you getting your audio from the TV? Since you said 2.1 [implying a subwoofer] I would suspect you have something other than a TV handling audio processing.

My short answer would be, "if your equipment and budget support it, then you should definitely add one."
