I am running a onkyo tx-sr606 in 2.1 mode. I have some polk bookshelf speakers (just little 5.25" and tweeter). And a 10" sonotube subwoofer that i made. I am pretty happy with it but am wondering if adding a decent center channel might help the sound? Thanks for any help.

Hi Chris, I also run a two-channel stereo system, and I'm very happy with this setup. That being said, there's no question you'll benefit from a center channel if you watch a lot of movies as this channel is used primarily for dialogue. If you do decide to purchase a center channel, be sure it is from the same series as the Polk bookshelves you have now so that all three speakers are timbre matched, otherwise you'll be disapointed with the new system

Cheers

I am also running a 2.1 system. I spent atleast 2 hours setting up my fronts PSB B25 so I have spot on centre Imaging with movies as well as Music. For best results the speakers should be as far away from each other as you are from them. and Towed in toward the Listening area.

good luck and happy hunting
