I currenbtly have a pretty old DVD/LD player, and it is showing it's age. Been doing a lot of reading about newer DVD players, the Chip sets and all. I pretty much figured I might get the RP-91, seems like a good player. Then I thought about this....

I have a big RSPTV, 50 or 55 inch, and it only has antennea, RCA Video and S-Video inputs. I do not plan on buying a new HDTV anytime soon.

So, I really do not care about the chip set, because I cannot even see the progressive version, right? I mean, all I will ever see is interlace... is that right?

Should I even bother with Prog scan players?

    Thanks!

The chip is a deinterlacing chip for progressive scan..Your current analog tv can not get the benifit of progressive scans 480p input....

Thanks, that's what I thought. So, I assume, all dvd players will show about the same thing in just analogue, and I should just be shopping for features...
