Do any of you own the Aussie blu ray of last of the Mohicans? (1 Viewer)

if you own this which version do you prefer to watch the theatrical release or the directors cut?

I'd like to know if there's a blu somewhere out there that isn't so friggin' dark.

I've been considering it for a while, but only because of the theatrical cut, which looks awful based on comments from people who've bought it. So, I'm passing on it at the moment.

I can’t decide if I should get the 2010 for $5.99 or pay $20 for the Aussie version that has the theatrical version that isn’t so dark.

Yup, I bought it. I held off buying the directors cut because of reports of how dark it was, but I viewed it & it didn't look at all bad to me. There's been reports over at Blu-ray.com of how bad the theatrical cut is, but I think that's mostly rubbish. I admit that I've only spot checked it, but there's reports of gate weave, well I checked it & made a note of a few scenes of possible weave & checked them with the directors cut, & it was exactly the same, & reports of a dirty print used (this is all from the same poster), but the bits I've seen look fine to me (also reports of some blocking on the night scenes), it's basically like the DVD, only sharper & HD. I'm happy with the set, I was keeping my DVD for the grade, but I've got shot of it now as I don't need it anymore...& at $25.82 delivered, it doesn't cost a fortune.
