It means Do Not Resuscitate. DON'T TOUCH IT.

Actually, for many of us, most of the so-called 'features' are to be avoided like the plague...

in your case, it most likely means 'Digital Noise Reduction.' What it actually does, and how it does it, and if it has any use what-so-ever, however, is subject to debate.

There are two competing bits of advice I can offer.

    1. DON'T TOUCH IT. (to quote Stew...)

    2. Some day, feeling bored, take a disc you're familiar with how it looks. Play with the button, and any settings you might find under it. See what it does. See how it screws up your picture. Then turn it off and never touch it again.

(do any of my biases show through?)
