I wanted to get a LCD tv for our Sun Room. But, it's a fairly big room and it's many $$ for something around 37-42 inch. I wanted LCD for it's light weight and wanted to hang it. But again, just too much money right now.

So, was thinking about a DLP set. Good size, still reasonable weight. But wonder about the DLP Technology for TV. I really don't need a WS model but it seems you can't get anything that you can hang ( with decent size) in a LCD or Plasma. Are the DLP TVs any good? Pros and cons?

What are anyones thoughts on this Samsung. It's 46" and only 1600.00

    Thanks

DLP is a good technology, I like the LCD RP's these days as well.

Your right directview LCD and Plasma still pretty ig buckos in general.

Just make sure where you purchase has a liberal return policy in case you don't like what ever you end up going with.

It's just that all displays are a series of trade offs these days, just hard to say what trade offs work best for you.

    Right on about return policy...

Are the LCD RP's a better set? Are they thinner than DLP?

Just wish they made larger LCDs in standard 4:3 Aspect. There are places/times where you don't need HD etc.

I have a Sharp Aquos 20" in the kitchen hooked up to basic Cable. It is great for that purpose.

Without the WS and HD stuff they would/should be reasonably priced.

The FCC requires sets over a certain size to incorporate atsc tuners. And, if you're going to incorporate the tuner, you might as well include the resolution...

Go to a store and look at a DLP. It gives me a headache after an hour or so, but some people love the look of it and can watch it for days.
