I'm REAL new to DIY and kicking around different idea's ,SVS,a custom by Brian B,Parts express ETC.I was wondering if it would be worthwile to use the enclosure from my old JBL PSW1000 sub and use a good driver and amp?Audio Review has a lot of good stuff said about this cheap sub, doesnt get slamed as hard as others in its range.Do you guys think this would be an option,or would I just be horribly degrading a good driver and amp by using an inexpensive mass market enclosure?

    Thanks
    Greg

check out rythmik audio. he has a servo system that could plug into any old cabinet. the servo control will account for any t/s parameters. the box size will only determine the output level. if you can enlarge the woofer cutout to take a 12inch driver, you should be set.
