    i have been told by many of you to maybe go with diy subwoofers. i have to admit i barely know anything about them. Any information is greatly needed. Thanks

    Do you have a budget in mind?
    Do you have a driver in mind (Stryke (linked above), Tempest, Tumult)? Do you have a driver size in mind (10", 12", 15")?
    Do you have any size limitations with regard to the enclosure due to either location or WAF (Wife Approval Factor)?
    Any problems aesthetically with Sonotube (cylindrical enclosure)?
    What size room will the sub go in?
    What equipment do you currently have? What's your current HT setup. What sub are you using now, if any?
    Do you listen to mostly Music or HT? 50/50?
    Provide some additional information and people will probably be more willing to offer suggestions. You can go hundreds of different directions in DIY. Some additional information from you will help narrow the path.

    Also, do you have access to any wood working tools? (specifically a saw and router)
