I have been lurking around looking for someone who has done this but I have not seen it yet. Has anyone made their home sub using a enclosure made for cars like the one shown here?

Should these be avoided for home theater use and why? Just curious as to why these aren't used (from what I've seen).

Mainly because you can't count on cabin gain in a home, while you can in a car, thus, if you want that really low end extension down to 20Hz (for Home Theater quality bass), you're not going to get it by using a car sub enclosure.
