I was wondering what you all thought? Which would be the better sounding sub. The EBS-alignment Shiva from Adires site (142.5 L vented cainet) or the Mid Q sealed Tempest (122 L) design on adire's site? Looking for mostly HT application, but wouldn't mind some pretty tight bass when Iisten to my jazz recordings. Bought an audiosource SW15 to get me by until it my Shiva or Tempest based sub is done. Advice would be great. Thanks guys!

If low end extension is not a priority, I'd go with the Tempest Mid-Q sealed 122 liter sub design.

I've never heard the shiva. But I do have a 230 L sealed tempest and it's awsome! I second what Patrick said. if you don't mind a little less output the tempest will sound the best.

Is the low end extension worth it? How deep will the small sealed Tempest go? 20 HZ? Thanks for the input.

I don't know how much of a boost you will get at 20 hz with a bigger box. When I made my sub I did not care how big it was as long as it fit through the door. I went for a Q of .577 because it has the most excursion capability over any other sealed tempest design. here is a chart of my tempest response in my 14' by 10' room. I think I picked the best design for a mix of Music/HT use.
