I was wondering if a DIY SPL would be possible. I have a studio mic and Behringer mixer that I use to get audio into a Mac using Peak or Deck software for audio mixing.

I'm not sure it'd be possible to determine reference levels, but at least all channels would be at the same level.

Any thoughts? Or is this a dumb idea?

not quite sure what you mean. Are you asking if there is a DIY SPL meter?

Yes, I'm wondering if it would be possible to do a DIY SPL meter with the equipment that I have.

sounds like it would work as long as your mike isn't rolling off at low frequencies.
