What are some good speaker kits out there that outperform Paradigm Studio V.3 series?

Arthur, depending on who you ask, pretty much anything above $300 per pair in components can outperform the Studio 100s in some aspect. I know there's at least one member who preferred the GR A/V-2s ($300) to them. What kind of speaker do you have in mind?

Pricerange is $400 per pair. I am looking for 50/50 music/HT!

Check out Dennis Murphy's site for several kits.

He's regarded as one of the best crossover designers among DIYers on the Madisound Audio Discussion (MAD) board. I'll be finishing his MBOW1 kit today. These cost ~$300 in parts, less the cabinets, and are probably his most popular design. He also just posted a 3-way version that you could upgrade to at a later time.
