Inspired by the other Salamander Synergy clone projects. Motovated by the hands of a mischievous 2 year old.

I lost track, but estimate I have about 700-800 invested. Here's my material list:
  • Extrusion - Local/eBay; Bosch-Rexroth 40x40 2S, 2SA and 8020 40-4001
  • Horiz panels - HD; 3/4" birch ply painted flat black
  • Vert panels - HD; 1/2" birch ply veneered African Mahogany (outside) flat black (inside)
  • Hardwood - Local; Lyptus stained Minwax Sedona Red 222
  • Perf Alu - McMaster-Carr; .1875" Hole Dia, 51% Open Area, .063" painted flat black
  • Hinges - Cabinetparts; Blum 100 degree Clip IN, 0mm base plate shimmed with 1/2" poplar.
  • Pulls - Rockler; Metropolitan Collection Stainless Steel 192mm
  • Door catch - HD; Liberty magnatic brown
  • Casters - Rockler; Acme Ball Casters 1" plate
  • Allthread - Local; 5/16-18 6'
  • Acorn nut - McMaster; Black-Luster Coated Steel 5/16"-18
  • Shoulder Screw - McMaster; 5/16-18 x 1"

(Sorry pix are kinda dark)

Phase 2 will be a matching TV stand. Only bummer so far is heat. Didn't make my vents in the back panel large enough. Will either remove the back panel or just mount a couple Antec SmartCool 120mm fans powering them from my HTPC.

Thanks for looking...

Oops, almost forgot an obligatory smiley :)

That looks pretty sharp. I made a TV stand using the 8020 extruded aluminum. What did you use to make the profile on the edge of your shelves?

Nice work. Have you considered pulling those front speakers out away from the unit? Your imaging would improve a lot if you did.

I used a 1" Round Nose Bit. I'm happy with the results but Lyptus burnt pretty easy if I hesitated the cut for even just an instant.

Yeah that's a good point! ... which reminds me, I still need to recal my receiver since my last move.
