I'm building my own cables for my HT. I'm using belden 1994a. I was trying to find other connectors other than Canare cap53, because of the die. it is 60$ For a set when i only need that one(tcd-35ca) if anybody knows of a connector please let me know Thanks.

The reason that most people use the Canare dies is because they work correctly. You can save money by using a different crimper, but you won't get the same results if you use a different die.
