Ok, I am going to be building my own Tempest subwoofer, and I was going to get one of the 250 watt plate amps from Parts Express..... but there is like 3 different styles, one with a remote, the other says it has Bass Boost...
So I am just trying to figure out which one I should buy.
300 - 793
300 - 794
300 - 796
What one should I get? Does it matter which one I get? I really dont see why I shouldnt just buy the $119 dollar one, but you all probably know more about them than I do :)
Let me know what you think.
Here is a link to what I am talking about :

Definately not if you plan to use a vented Tempest (sealed you might want a little boost). With either you can modify the boost yourself by just changing out two resistors.
The end of this docuement gives a bunch of options:

For a Tempest I'd be looking at the 1dB of boost in the 25-30hz range with the rumble filter Fc at 17hz (for vented allignments anyways).

I've purchase the 250w plate amp from PE before and they told me that the bass boost is disabled on this amp.

Bry,

Then you must have bought the 300-794. As stated above, there are 3 different models of the "250W amp".
