Hello-

Does anybody have any feedback on using Diva 2.1s as mains with a subwoofer? How do you have them mounted? We have a kid on the way and I am concerned with the tipping potential of towers. (So does my wife which is why the window of upgrading the speakers is open).

I own an SVS PCi 25-31.

Thanks for the help.

it might just be better to "sacrifice"(tic) for your wife and go with the 4.1 or 5.1-

Here's a little bump as I, too, would like some input on the 2.1s. I was actually wondering what five (or six) 2.1s would sound like. They appear to have really decent bass, and I really like the looks of the whole line. I'm also curious to get opinions on using it as a center. I've seen a lot of people critical of M-T-M centers. I guess the Swan center is, what, M-MT-T-M? Does the mid-tweet do enough to stop the problems inherent in other M-T-M centers (lobing, small sweet spot, et cetera)?

As for my guesses, I would think the 2.1s would serve nicely when mated with an SVS. I know people love nOrh 4.0s with SVSs, and the 2.1 supposedly has even better bass repsponse, so you could play with your crossover a little more if you wanted to. This is just what I've read, so I hope you get some more concrete information, but that's my two cents.

I use 2.1s as my mains. They're mounted above my plasma. There is no room on the sides or under the plasma for the larger models. I'm using those wire shelves from Home Depot to hold them, along with my C3. The shelves sag a little, so I'm going to put some extra rods in them for stiffness. My sub is an SVS 16-46PCi, and my surrounds are R3s.

I think they all sound terrific. Maybe 4.1s, 5.1s, or 6.1s would sound better, but this is the space and setup that I have. I was hugely impressed when I added the 2.1s and C3 to my setup. Previously, I was using a Bose Acoustimass 15 set (but I'm feeling much better now). I think you'll be very happy with 2.1s as mains, I sure am.

Warren,

You don't seem to be getting much feedback on your question so I will try to help out a little. I have a pair of 2.1's that I primarily use for rears, but I have tried them out up front and was really surprised at how well they performed. They have terrific imaging and an expansive soundstage. The biggest failing they have for mains is a little weakness in the midrange frequencies. However for the price, I don't know what you can get that will perform better. I have followed a lot of the Diva thread on AVS, and there seem to be a number of 2.1 owners that are using them as mains and are very happy.

Good Luck,

I own the 4.1 set up and to brake in the rear 2.1 I set them up in my son's room and had him play music through them for a couple of day and nights as he likes to play music all night when he sleeps. I spent a couple of hours in there listening to my music and I thought they sounded sweet I also have the 25-31 PCi great sub.The 4.1 do have a nicer sound than the 2.1
