distance from tv for non-shielded sub? (1 Viewer)

What would be a safe distance from a tv for a non-shielded subwoofer??
Fairly simple question, I hope...
My tv is just a standard 27 incher, nothing special.
The sub I was wondering about is the JBL PB12

i'm guessing here, but since regular non-shielded speakers need to be at least 2-3 feet away...with a sub and it's bigger magnet, i would guess at least 4-5 feet.
personally, i'd go at least 5 feet. better safe then sorry.
