Of all the readily available displays (CRT FP,CRT, RPCRT, LCOS, DLP, PLASMA, et cetera):

Is any display type more efficient or inefficient (in terms of power consumption) than any other display?

    just curious.

I know that the typical Plasma consumes about 3 times the enery of a similar sized LCD but I don't know how that compares to the other types.

I must say I am clueless on this. And the topic has peeked my interest in it as well.

Well this isn't very scientific, but when my plasma display was out of commission for a three week plus time, my electric bill was $27 lower than usual. When the display was back in business the electric bill returned to normal. So I figure about a buck a day for its food.

Digital front projectors are so-so. 120 to 180 watt bulbs and overall 200 watt power consumptions for LCD projectors for example. I think thats less than CRT or Plasma last time I checked.
