It's been announced elsewhere, but I just wanted to confirm that the Disney version (releasing 8/28) of "South Pacific" with Glenn Close (I believe it was on TV early this year or late last year) includes not only a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, but a DTS 5.1 track as well - a review copy just arrived. The movie itself is full-screen and does include both a deleted scene and featurette.

    Aaron,
thanks for the heads up on the DTS version. I had understood that the soundtracks were to be both DTS and DD 5.1; I believe Amazon has this disc listed that way.
However, when Disney chose to delete the song "Happy Talk" claiming it was not Politically Correct, they put the kabosh on this purchase for me. That song is important to establishing charcter and could easily have been staged to emphasize the innocent simplicity of one girl, not of an entire people. Surely, that is the way Rodgers and Hammerstein, who condemned racism (i.e. "You've Got to be Careully Taught"), intended it to be.
