Anyone know if the disney Plus app is available on the lg 65e6p? Robert? Doug? Bueller???
Watched the first 15 minutes of the live-action Lady and the Tramp. It looks beautiful. I'll set aside comments on the production until I've seen the whole thing.
Also watched the first few minutes of Star Wars (Episode IV) and Disney's production of the musical Annie.
This is gonna be fun!
And the lineup of "Disney Junior" stuff for my granddaughters looks very inviting (although some of it--like Puppy Dog Pals--doesn't seem to be available yet).
Avatar was shot in 1080 with the VFX rendered in 2k. Outside of an HDR pass there's barely anything to be gained there.
Tino, when I switched my LG65E6P on last night, a message popped up telling me that the app for D+ was available to install. I didn't do it on the LG; I went to my Roku and did it.
The commentary is available using the Movies Anywhere app under Extras (near the bottom of the page).
LG Smart TVs are supposed to support the app. I downloaded the app off of LGs content store for my 2017 model 65" OLED set last night. I'm pretty sure it will be available for the set you are referencing.
The downside of the LG Disney+ app is that it will not play ATMOS tracks over ARC. It down converts them to Dolby Digital.
Phantom Menace was shot on 35mm Arriscope and output to film. Its the only one of the prequels that you can get a 4k scan of. II and III are upscales from 1080 and thus not very visually outstanding.
I'm giving up on sampling the service until later today.
I didn't check because I wouldn't use it. No Atmos.
Has anyone used the roku app yet? When I get home I’ll be attempting it
That's what I've been using. Its incredibly glitchy and not everything is showing up yet.
Looks like no Atmos unless you have a 4K tv.
This is similar to Vudu and MA I think.
The sign up for a free year is up and running on the Verizon Wireless website. I got promised email with the information about 2 PM. Since people are reporting problems this first day, I will wait until I hear the problems are resolved before signing up. 12 months free and then billed $6.99 per month by Verizon, not Disney. Can cancel anytime.
Per the website:
Are all Unlimited plans eligible for the Disney+
on us offer?
Eligible plans include the Verizon Unlimited plan, Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, Above Unlimited, Get More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, and Start Unlimited. Business accounts are not eligible.
Are existing Fios and 5G Home customers
eligible for the Disney+ on us offer?
The Disney+ on us offer is only for new Fios and 5G Home customers. Business accounts are not eligible.
Really is a shame that The Simpsons is cropped.
It's too bad TV shows don't get the same respect movies do in terms of OAR.
I just tried it again on another Roku unit and it worked okay. I still prefer using it on ATV4K units.
The same could be said about SW Ep. II and III as well, right?
You've got to be kidding me! I have that app on our Apple TV but rarely use it, I wonder how long it has been there. Thanks!
So, I got that backwards. I knew at least one of the prequels was limited by the digital cameras of the time so, it was II and III.
Well how do they look on Disney+ since they are probably just upscales? Anyone checked them out yet? I'm at work and my work monitor is only 1080p.
Does anyone know if these episodes were cropped on the FXX streaming service? If so, it may be all Disney has for now.
I wasn't impressed at all with "The Phantom Menace" will that movie ever look good?
The original trilogy looks amazing though.
May I ask what equipment you're watching these movies on?
