I checked on some other theaters, and they did not say that on Holes or any other Disney film. That's odd.

Contractually, Disney does not allow commercials to show before ANY Disney branded product. It useed to include Touchtone as well, but that has been dropped (WB had a similiar policy).

commercials before movies=bad
not having to fast forward/watch previews before a movie on DVD=awesome

its funny that Disney is the only studio that i know of that ALWAYS has previews as part of the whole pre-main menu screen  pressing 'main menu' on the remote before the main menu on some dvds just restarts the pre main menu process, and thats exactly what i don't want.
Universal has that thing before all its features, but it's after the main menu, and anything after the main menu is easy to get by, and sometimes i like watching the clip to see the shots.
oh yeah, and fox...i have NEVER ran into trouble with their pre menu thing, and at least what they have is new, and not a design that was designed 15 years ago, and all the same music...ugh

So if Disney changed their preview menus, style, and music, and previewed a movie you were looking forward too, then you wouldn't mind, Q.E.D.?

I think all of the "forced" (which they're not) previews are annoying: Fox, Disney, Universal, all of them. But I do find it interesting that Disney is the only one who gets singled out for it...

maybe it's because with Disney they used to NOT be skippable unless you pressed 'Next' about 50 times - like with the original Tarzan dvd. At least now they skip straight to the menu but the old ones forced you to skip each individual freakin' preview.

That's the thing that gets me about Disney. Not so much that they put trailers, but they put so many.
