Does anybody know if the 'repressing' of Disney Dinosaur has hit the streets and if so how does one tell if the shelf copy is the 'fixed' copy or the older release.

When the DVD's first hit the street it would not play back in a large number of low to mid range DVD players.. basicly anything that was not a SONY DVD player (but then even a few SONY owners reported troubles).
Disney allowed owners to return the DVD for refund and claimed that they were going to 'FIX' the DVD so that it would play back in a larger number of players.

I contacted Disney June 28, 2001 about the problem with Dinosaur not playing on some players (my player being a Toshiba 3109).
My name was put on the list to have a replacement Dinosaur sent to me when Disney completed them. I was told a postage paid mailer/sticker would be sent with the replacement to return my defective disk. My disk would not load.
The phone number for Disney is 800-723-4763 . The lady I talked to was very nice!
    Good luck JohnWK

JohnWK, thank's for the tip. I called the number you gave and they're going to send me a "fixed" copy as soon as it's ready.

I hope they make it easy to discern which ones are the fixed versions, because I took mine back to the store I bought it from. I'd like to own this movie, but not if it stutters every 30 seconds (as it did in my player). I'll gladly repurchase it if they fix the problems...

Yes, I'd like to know, too. I've held off buying this title because of this issue. I've seen that it was included in this giant $200 set at CostCo with all the Disney multi-disc sets (I posted about this once a month or two ago). I figure it was a fixed version, but I'd like to know for sure. Besides, I don't need the giant set; I've got everything else. I'd like to know how to tell if the individual double-disc set is a good one or not!

I called the csr today( I too have been waiting a looooong time)she told me that the disk is finished and that it has been sent to a select few to verify that it has no issues. Once all of the reviewers have "blessed" this issue it will be sent ala Tarzan(mailer included with new disk)look at the clock......the countdown has begun

    Whats up with that?

Count me as one of the lucky ones who actually got the first disc to run on their player. The disc played fineon my Pioneer, though the menus did not run as smoothly as possilbe. I can't believe it is taking Disney so long to make a fix though. This is getting a bit ridiculous, not to mention they are still selling the so called faulty versions all the while.

I find the length of time to repair this wierd as well. I mean..The Kid came out at the same time and had similar problems..but that was replaced in a reasonable length of time. Somethings wierd...
