I am looking for anyone out there who is watching STANDARD Dish Network programming over a projector. I am about to get the Sanyo Z2 and want to see just how bad the picture quality of Dish TV is. Also, what have you done to improve the PQ if anything?

I have a NEC HT 1000 and DishTV. It sucks. Projector is awesome with DVD but I don't even bother with Dish. I've posted looking for input about using a DVDO Ultras Scan would help, but have never received any response. Maybe that, in itself, is a response.

The crappy picture quality of Dish and Directv is due to their use of compression. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it. It already sucks enough for RPTV, much less front projection. All we can really do is hope that both companies can come up with more bandwidth for not only increased HD programming, but also for less compressed SD programming. This applies to digital cable as well.
