Hi,
Has anyone come up with a way to get the fan to cut off, at least when the receiver is turned off? My fan cuts off with the receiver, but after a short pause, turns back on again. Dreadful design  .

The receiver is never really off. You just turn off the video outputs. Internally, it is working just as hard as if it was turned on. All fan cooled STB's are like this.

I guess I'll put the thing on a switched outlet. My theater is very quiet and the OTA module fan, while not out of line for a small fan, really stands out in there. Even the kids will unplug it when trying to watch a movie.

That will work but whenever you power it back up, it will take about five minutes to aquire all of the guide data again.
