Hello all.
Recently, I purchased a 36" Wega (Xbr450).
I have had DishNetwork for a few years now, and
have never really noticed any type of picture
defects. Now, with the 36", I am getting very
annoyed by most a lot of the channels. Some look
great, some look ok, some are down right terrible.
Is this the TV, Dish, or both? I haven`t done
a lot of research on this, but as far as I can
tell, its sorta both.
DVD and OTA look beautiful. Some of the Dish
channels are also great, but a lot arent (like
the superstations).
Is there any remedy for this? Anything I can put
inline to help out the picture? (I have dish 500
and a Terk TV42 antenna, and a 2700 receiver).
Is there anyway to turn the DRC off?
thanks for any help
Adam

If you haven't calibrated your TV, then it's both. If you have, then it's Dish. Some channels are more compressed than others.

I have calibrated it with Video Essentials for
now. After reading more and more at another forum,
I am seeing lots of people with picture complaints,
especially after getting a digital TV or RPTV.
Either way, its gotta be better than Adelphia cable.
Thanks!
