Recently, we discovered our Sony KV36HS510 picture had a number of discolored areas. I then learned that our direct view Sony was very very sensitive to magnetic interference. Next, we investigated our front speakers- Infinity Alpha 50's, a 37c Center and a Infinity Sub. All are in close proximity to the TV. Unfortunately, I then learned that both shielded and unshielded speakers may effect direct view Sony's.

After this discovery I contacted Infinity and learned how to install additional shielding. In the case of the sub, initial shielding was installed.

All speakers are over shielded, including the subwoofer.

Even after this additional shielding, we experienced discoloration in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Sony states that "no speaker" should be within 4 feet of the KV36HS510. Since this is all but impossible we find ourselves faced with a sticky wicket.

Your comments and advise will be greatly appreciated.

    Greetings

Sometimes moving the set around the room also changes the magnetic field effect.

    regards
