After a recent move, I found myself with a major dilemma: No reception for DTV! After $500 of Tree trimming, I found that my neighbors tress are part of the problem, of which they would not be too happy to cut down or even trim for that matter. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so were you able to do anything about it? I would rather go to my grave then go back to Cablevision! Hence, I have been with out TV for 3 weeks now and I can only watch DVD's so much. DTV needs to put up another Satellite, and soon because I have to believe there are tons of people in situations just like mine. Any advice?

    DTV means direct tv?

So there's no way to place the dish to get a clear view?

You could always go with Dish Network which will point at a different direction in the sky....hopefully there's no tree in the way.

Having good neighbor is too important to jeopardize this over.

Do the trees block every conceivable vantage point from the satellite?

I have had 3 different installers try to get Direct Tv installed, and all say there is no line of sight with the foliage around my home. I can't believe I might have to go back to cablevison!

    BULL!
I brought in reception in a house surrounded by giant redwoods.
Try connecting up an extension to a small tv so you can move the dish and see the meter.
make sure the support arm is level...if it's not, everything will be off
If you are getting a "0", it's usually a cable problem, not a line of sight problem
