    Hey all,
I have been considering picking up one of those directpc/tv combo dishes when I move. Just wandering if anyone in HTF land has one and if so what do you think.
How does it compare speed wise with dsl, roadrunner?
What kind of connection does it require as far as a modem is concerned?
Any strange problems a guy should know about?
    Thanx

Well, the service is one-way only. You still need an ISP for uploads, which means they are still slow and you can't use your phone and internet service at the same times. Also, you will still need tolog on.
    That's why I didn't go that route.
Two way service would solve those problems, but it is rather pricy.

I tried it almost a year ago and I thought it was horrible. I was desperate for a high speed connection, but after numerous problems I ended up returning it. I would avoid it. It wasn't even that fast when it did work.

I have not tried or know anyone that has it, but Dish Network's version is two-way (no phone line involved) and runs about $100/month, but includes your Dish programming as well.
