Would like to see Sorceror and To Live and Die in LA
Sorcerer is very good - it'd be cool if Criterion could release it with their upcoming re-release of The Wages of Fear.

I love the French Connection. I loathe the racist trash that is Rules of Engagement. I can't say much without violating HTF rules, but everything that's wrong with U.S. foreign policy is reflected in the attitudes of that horrible film.

In order of merit:

1.The French Connection (1971) ****

2.The Exorcist (1973) ***1/2

3.The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968) ***

4.The Birthday Party (1968) ***

5.The Boys in the Band (1970) ***

6.To Live and Die in L.A. (1985) **1/2

7.The Hunted (2003) **1/2

8.The Guardian (1990) **

9.Cruising (1980) *1/2

Even though I seriously doubt whether it will prove to be superior to Henri-Georges Clouzot's THE WAGES OF FEAR (1953), I'd love to watch Friedkin's misleadingly-titled remake, SORCERER (1977); hopefully, I'll be given that chance when Criterion re-issues WAGES as a (probable) 2-Disc Set later on in the year.

Good Times (1967)

"The Exorcist" put me to sleep the first time I saw it on the big screen. While it had the potential to be a great movie, it just didn't come across well enough to be that good. I liked the book better, still do.

"Deal of the Century" one of the better comedies out there considering the subject matter and the time it was released.

"The French Connection" is still one of the all time great dramas on film. Well written screenplay, and very well acted.

"To Live and Die In L.A." good screenplay, great twist at the end, and to depit a cop as someone you can love and hate all in the same character is uniquely creative. The acting was what made the story believable.

"12 Angry Men" for a remake to bring together a cast that could pull off the dramatic tension that was evident in the original was done in this film. I enjoyed this, unlike most remakes, it didn't stray from the original premise making it worth watching more than once.
