Horrible director, one of my most despised. He either makes complete and utter garbage like Shock Corridor, horrendously bad melodramatic soap opera crap like The Naked Kiss, or ruins what could have actually been a decent film like Pickup on South Street by filling it with right-wing paranoid anti-communist propaganda.

A slight over-simplification. I'm no fan of Samuel Fuller either but I do quite like Pick-Up On South Street. (If you think that's bad, wait until you've seen the re-make with Jacqueline Bisset: The Cape Town Affair. That is a truly fifth rate movie) One Fuller movie I've never seen but would love to, at least once and probably only once, is China Gate with a young Angie Dickinson. Why is this not on DVD?
