DirecTivo "Pop" or "Snap" (1 Viewer)

Just started noticing an intermittent crackle or pop sound, almost like a static discharge sound, on the directivo audio (digital optical out). I've got a Philips DirecTivo Series 1 receiver running through a Marantz 7200. In particular, I notice this frequently on the DirecTV's local channels (Chicago area). Don't recall noticing it on other channels, either basic or premium. Certainly does not happen with audio from the DVD player (whether PCM or DD/DTS).

Anyone else notice this? More importantly, is there something that can be done? Is this a problem with me or with the encoding of the local channels?

That happens when the decoder can't get enough of the signal to put it together so it loses sync for a bit. I've seen the same problem on an HDVR2, it occurs mostly on local channels. I think it's just the amount of bandwidth the channel gets.
