Direct View VS Projection

    I received my Toshiba 50h82 a couple days ago.
    I think the picture looks great! However, I think the picture was a little more crisp and clear on my non-hd 32" Panasonic direct view set.
    I know that the old analog RPTVs couldn't even come close to the picture quality of a good direct view set, but I was under the impression that the new HD RPTVs would look better than the non-hd direct view sets.
    Again, I think the picture looks great, but I definitely notice a slight loss in clarity. I am only talking about DVD's here as I don't have an HD decoder yet.
    To be honest, right now the only advantage I see to the RPTV is the size, which is a big advantage.

    Is this the price we pay for a larger picture or would a good calibration help?
