Hi all,

I'm looking to buy my first HD widescreen set, but I'm on something of a budget. I've been looking at the 30" Phillips, Sony Wega and Samsung TVs, and was curious if anybody heard anything particularly good or bad about them.

And if anybody knows of something on the horizon that might cause these to drop in price (like new models replacing the current ones) that'd be helpful too.

Thanks in advance.

Budget???

Sony's are of course top of the crop.

Samsungs and Philips both have some little quirks here and there with these large CRT direct view sets.

A Sanyo of all things is getting good reviews and includes an HDTV tunrer on the cheaper side of things.

Thanks,

I'm looking in roughly the $1000 range. I'll probably go with Sony Wega. I've seen the 30 inch on sale lately.
