I was wanting to upgrade my horrible cable with directtv but I have no home phone just cell. Is this only needed for ordering payperview etc...Also I will want to have it on two tv's but I don't want to watch the same thing in both rooms at the same time, which is what I gather will happen if I have only reciever. So I guess I will need more than one reciever and I guess this is where the mirroring fee comes in??? What is the deal with this I can have as many cable connections as I want. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you just have one receiver, you can get away without a phone line. Two or more and they will reguire it. You pay less for the second receivers programming so they will want to verify that it is at the same address as the first. Thus requiring that they "phone home" each month.

A home phone line is also required for certain sports subscriptions so they can verify your location. This is so that they can set the correct blackouts and such for your area.
