Direct TV DVR R10 flipped to black and white (1 Viewer)

I had a strange occurance tonight, I was watching TV and in the proccess of flipping channels the screen changed to black and white. I went into the menu on the TV to check the color settings and they were in color so I knew it wasn't the TV. Is there a button or a setting I hit that flips the S-Video output into black and white? The DVR is only a month old so did I get a bad unit? The only way to restore color was to unplug the unit and let it go through the boot proccess.

I've seen this problem mentioned over at the Tivo Community but I haven't seen the proper fix. I don't have this model so I don't read those threads in detail.

It sounds more like a loose s-video cable.
