A little early, but coming out Nov 6th, 2007:
Paramount - Region 2 - PAL "Chinatown" vs. Paramount (Special Collector's Edition) - Region 1, 4 - NTSC
NOTE: Eyes Wide Shut is on deck - coming soon. Just to confirm the new releases (2-disc, HD and Blu-ray) contain Kubrick's unexpurgated scenes complete with the orgy scene(s) intact. But unlike the Region 1 digitally censored version it is 1.78 not 1.33. The extras are great that I have seen so far. More to report soon...

New 2-disc

Here is a sample of the new 2-disc vs the hi-def:

Hi Vincent - thanks for pointing that out on the back of the box (in small print). I see no option for choosing the 'Rated' version. Check my postings of the menus - did I miss it?
Best,
Gary

I looked at the menus on your site & didn't see any mention of it on them, that's why I was curious. Do you have the actual packaging & does it say that or did they change the back cover so that what you have does not match what's on DVD Empire? I'm also curious if your copy of the new The Shining has Jack Nicholson on the front or a door as shown at the kubrickfilms.warnerbros.com website

Sometimes when Warner offers two versions of a movie on the same dual layered disc (usually full frame and widescreen such as with the forthcoming "License to Wed"), the only chance you have to select the version you want is from the main menu when you first select play. If you start the movie by selecting chapter one from the chapter menu, it will play in the default format (usually whichever is encoded as "Title 1") without giving you the option of choosing a version. I have no idea whether or not this is the case with EWS, though.

Gary,
Why is some of the sides missing if I compare the SD to the HD of 2001: A Space Odyssey? Is it overscan on your TV? Compare the first screen capture on the HD page to the one on the SD page on your web site (see screen captures below)

Yes Roland, either that or I have some monitor bloom distortion around the edges when zoomed out (which I would crop off). The caps aren't meant for AR representation, but very observant of you to notice.

Gary
