...that's okay, my fault, I didn't let Bill know to hold off a few days. We sure do appreciate the BITS announcing this nonetheless.
Yes, it's true! We are holding a live chat with the studio on Monday March 14th at 8pm EST, 7pm CST, 6pm MST, 5pm PST.
I only opted to wait a few more days to announce this as I am still waiting for the final list of participants from Warner.
Let me say this....
Warner approached Home Theater Forum to do this chat. They did so because they love this forum and its membership. Parker and I had the opportunity to talk on the phone with them the other evening. They informed us that HTF is a huge resource for their studio and that they read this site multiple times a day for feedabck.
They really want to do a top-notch chat with this forum....to answer all your questions and even possibly sneak in a few "exclusive" release announcements.
All of you who have attended past chats are aware that Warner and Fox give us an awful amount of their personal time and do their best to answer EVERY question they can.
We will post an official announcement with the list of participants this upcoming Tuesday.
Note: We cannot allow discussion of questions that will be asked at the chat. This chat is designed to be totally unprepared event so that the studio has no idea of the questions to be asked. Your cooperation in not posting questions to be asked in advance would be appreciated
I unfortunately will not be able to attend this or future chats any longer as I'm now working 3PM to 11Pm. Not that it matters much since I've been unable to get any questions in at any chat since the 1st one I attended. I just hope that the info I'm interested in gets asked about.
Warner are pretty much on the ball as to what their customers want. We really need a chat with Universal, Columbia and perhaps Paramount. Have any of these studios been approached recently for a live chat, Ron?
I am still glad that Warner will be joining us again. I hope that the questions aren't as repititious as the last chat, though.
I'm sure everyone already knows what questions I'm hoping to ask!
(I don't want to give anything away, but hopefully certain issues related to edited content in a recently released boxset which had many, many fans disgruntled, will be addressed too...)
I understand this, but I'm wondering if we can start a thread whose sole purpose is to identify which films Warner's does and does not own? It would sure cut down on Q: When is Title X coming out? A: I don't know, since we don't have the rights to Title X.
You guys want to put something like this together? We will be more than happy to post it as a "sticky" thread at the top of our forum leading up through the chat.
Perhaps one idea could be a listing of all Warner titles requested by members in previous posts on the HTF Forum. We could then work together marking off those now released on dvd. Then we could add those not mentioned by HTF members but still controlled by Warners. I can think of 1 or 2 of my Warner wants that I've posted about over the post couple of years. It may help Warners too in preparing for the chat. Hope someone can start something but it would be a big job - Warners libary is big!
Another possible idea would be, before each round of questioning to have someone keep up a list that's updated after each question of which titles have been asked about. Then, when it's time to call "yo," right before that have a moderator say "Next round of questions, get your "yos" ready, here are the titles that have already been discussed. I remember at the last chat there were a gajillion Batman Animated Series questions, maybe we can cut down on those.
I'm definitely looking forward to this chat, Warner Bros. have really taken themselves from a mid-level DVD studio to one of the absolute best.
Ron, pardon me asking. I know the not discussing the questions part is to make sure they don't know what is going to be asked. But, don't we want them to have an idea what might be asked. So they have an answer and not the "We'll look into it" response?
In any case. This is great news. I won't be asking about Batman Animated. But, will ask about Justice League season sets instead of these lame 3 episode discs...oh and where's the Flash already.
I'm not Ron and I'm sure he'll give you an answer to your question, but I'm thinking that Warner already has a good idea as to what questions will be asked during the chat. Anybody reading this forum can feel the pulse of what members want on dvd.
